An extensive and very diverse schedule has been detailed for the maiden voyages of Carnival Cruise Line’s next brand new ship, Carnival Horizon, which will take to the seas from 02 April next year, the line said.

Construction on the 3,936-passenger vessel is currently well underway in Europe and on its debut, the ship will welcome its first guests for a 13-day Mediterranean cruise from the Spanish port of Barcelona. This cruise will be very port-intensive, visiting Livorno, Rome, Naples, Dubrovnik, Corfu, Messina, Valletta and Cagliari. A pair of seven and ten-day cruises in the same region will also make up the ship’s first sailings.

Early the next month, the vessel will cross the Atlantic on a 14-day voyage and reposition to the Carnival stronghold of the United States, where it will initially be based in New York City. The ship’s first summer season will be spent sailing from the Big Apple, running eight-day cruises to the Caribbean, in which it will visit Grand Turk and Amber Cove.

As the cooler months of 2018 set in for the Northern Hemisphere, Carnival Horizon will then head south to Miami, which will become its year-round home from 22 September. The ship will then begin an ongoing repetition of six and eight-day cruises departing every second Saturday and Sunday in which it will visit different corners of the Caribbean.

Passenger features on the new ship will mirror those on Carnival Vista, currently the newest ship sailing for Carnival after its debut in May last year. Amenities will include the top-deck SkyRide – an aerial cycle-park – an IMAX theatre and enormous water park which features the popular ‘Kaleid-o-slide’.

Stateroom options will be extensive and will be the same as its predecessor, with many different varieties for families and larger groups, spa staterooms and others, including one which offers occupants exclusive access to a private daytime Cuban-themed bar and pool.

Bookings are now open for Carnival Horizon’s maiden season of cruises from Europe, New York and Miami. Contact your preferred travel retailer for more information.
