If you’ve ever cruised with Norwegian Cruise Line, anywhere around the world, the company wants to hear from you as part of a new promotion and competition. The line is approaching 50 years since its very first ship, the M/S Sunward set sail on its maiden voyage for the brand from Miami, Florida into the Caribbean on 19 December 1966.
Launching a special website to mark the occasion – www.norwegiansfirst50.com – the line is inviting travellers from around the world who have sailed with them in the past to share their onboard memories, photos and stories via the #NorwegiansFirst50 hashtag. This will become a dynamic timeline of the line’s history as more memories are uploaded and eventually turn into a living, growing tribute.
Aussies participating by contributing to the timeline will go into the draw to win a balcony stateroom on a cruise for two people (excluding Pride of America).
Cruisers keen to take part in onboard celebrations for the line’s anniversary during the month itself have 46 itineraries to choose from, departing from New York, Miami, Tampa, Honolulu and other parts of the United States and Europe.
From its inauspicious debut in 1966, Norwegian Cruise Line is now the world’s third largest cruise brand, with 14 ships now sailing to more than 300 destinations around the world.
