Fear not if you’ve been unable to secure your preferred suite on luxury small-ship cruise brand Seabourn and its newest ship Seabourn Encore during its maiden season. The line has released for sale its 2017-18 itineraries, which reveal the ship will return to Australian waters for a second and much longer season of local cruising from late next year.
Five voyages 16 days in length will take place between December 2017 and February 2018, kicking off with the first journey from Sydney to Auckland, departing on 04 December. This sailing will visit Philip Island and Melbourne before crossing the Tasman for some scenic cruising in Milford Sound and Fiordland National Park.
Ports in New Zealand will include Oban, Port Chalmers, Timaru, Akaroa, Wellington, Picton and Tauranga before reaching Auckland. This will be followed by a 16-day round-trip journey from Auckland into the South Pacific, calling in Fiji, Vanuatu and New Caledonia.
Encore will then cross between New Zealand and Australia on three 16-day versions of the first voyage, departing from Auckland on 05 January 2018, from Sydney on 21 January 2018 and finally a third time from the NZ city on 06 February. The final sailing leaving Australian waters will be an 18-day repositioning back to Asia via the Queensland coast.
Veranda Suites (the lowest priced category) on each sailing are priced from $14,499 per person twin share on a near all-inclusive basis. Only spa treatments and shore tours are charged as extras to guests on Seabourn, with everything else on the ship included in fares.
The finishing touches to the 600 passenger Seabourn Encore are now being made at the ship’s Italian construction yard ahead of its christening ceremony in Singapore in January 2017. Afterwards, the brand new vessel will head to Sydney for its inaugural sailings between Australia and New Zealand before returning to Asia and Europe.
Seabourn’s complete 2017-18 fleet-wide schedule comprises 36 different itineraries ranging from 7-152 days in duration.
