Formal nights onboard cruise ships are universally recognised as a highlight of the experience in many people’s eyes, but to reach that ultra-glamorous look which will turn heads, ladies know there must be time spent in the hair salon shaping those locks.
As part of an expansion in its health and wellness offerings to passengers, European cruise brand MSC Cruises has joined forces with global hairstyling juggernaut Jean Louis David in what it says is an “industry first” by bringing the iconic hair salons to the entire MSC fleet by the end of 2016. Salons are already open on MSC Preziosa, MSC Fantasia and MSC Poesia.
The brand will first be installed on the line’s existing 11 ships and will also become part of the design on upcoming MSC ships, starting with MSC Meraviglia and continuing through as many as an additional 11 ships scheduled to join the fleet over the next decade.
The agreement will see hair stylists on MSC ships trained to the Jean Louis David standard, delivering hair services to both ladies and men by appointment during your cruise. The brand will roll out a comprehensive range of its products and services to its new network of cruise ship salons – many of which are exclusive and high-end – to ensure travellers look their best.
Services will range from men’s haircuts through to a whole kaleidoscope of options for ladies including shampoo, styling and hydrating oil therapy, all at the same prices as on land. In line with the Jean Louis David experience on land, guests will begin their appointment with a personalised discussion with their stylist where the customer selects their desired look from books exclusive to the brand, working with the stylist to design their haircut or treatment based on the customer’s individual style and what is and is not possible. Jean Louis David stylists refer to this process as the “Collection Moment”.
Jean Louis David hair styling and salons are known around the world as a standard bearer and a name at the forefront of hair trends and fashions. Since its formation in 1961, the brand has grown to now encompass over 1,000 individual salons around the world.
