Azamara Club Cruises takes guests to St Mark's Square in Venice.

New shore excursions running for two and even three days mid-voyage have been launched by Azamara Club Cruises as part of its ongoing mission to deliver the most in-depth and immersive destination experiences for its passengers worldwide.

Each multi-day excursion in the ‘Overnight Adventures’ program includes all transportation and entry fees (as required) to attractions, meals and hotel accommodations in a standard similar to that onboard the ship. Excursions are led by a guide of expert travel guides deeply attuned with a particular destination, all familiar with a region’s history, landmarks and other points of interest.

While more Overnight Adventures are expected to be added in time, the initial range of multi-day excursions available from Azamara includes:

Ancient Temples of Bagan – On this tour, available on select Asian voyages cruising in Myanmar, guests disembark the ship in Yangon and start with a tour of some of more than 3,000 pagodas and temples in the area. The next day, the tour continues on to a local market before viewing more ruins on the way back to the ship.

Desert Night in Oman – If ever you might feel like you were in the middle of nowhere, this tour literally sees guests spend the night in the middle of the desert, with a major difference being the comparable standard of luxury. The Omani capital of Muscat is just as much a home of tumbling waterfalls and lagoons as it is arid desert. After a city tour and the drive into the desert, guests are welcomed with a sumptuous BBQ and associated Arabic dancing and drinks before retreating to a luxury Bedouin tent fitted with all the modern luxuries.

Azamara Club Cruises offers an Omani desert experience on an Overnight Adventure.
A luxury relaxation area is where guests can party in the desert before retiring to a luxury tent.

Nazareth, Galilee and Jerusalem – While docked in Ashdod, the port for the city of Jerusalem, travellers can step into the early years of Jesus Christ, visit the River Jordan where he was baptized, see the Mount of Beatitutes and return to Jerusalem that evening. After a night in a city hotel, the second day is spent touring the Old City, seeing the Western Wall and viewing the Stations of the Cross.

Grand Italian Adventure – This adventure sees guests leave the ship in Venice and return to their voyage the next day in Florence. The first full day in the famed floating city takes guests on a guided tour of the city’s highlights including Doge’s Palace & St Mark’s Cathedral. The next day, travellers head to Florence to view works by Michelangelo and wander among the boutiques before heading back onboard.

Azamara Club Cruises prides itself on its ability to stay longer in port, with most cruises featuring a high number of overnight stays in port or late evening departures in order to facilitate evening touring as well as guests who choose to spend the night onshore.
