Hurtigruten, the Norwegian line famous for its guarantee that you will see the Northern Lights on its winter cruises, has launched an all new look for four of its vessels. The new interiors are based on what the line calls a “New Arctic” look, utilising a natural palette of whites, browns and blacks and materials such as blonde and dark woods.
A relocation of the ship’s main bar to the forward observation lounge has allowed for guests to now be able to better take in the 270-degree views. Oslo-based Hurtigruten has also refreshed the onboard dining programme, with a new focus on seasonal ingredients from the regions in which the ship sails.
The Kong Harald and Polarlys both now feature the new look while sister ship Nordkapp will be completed later this month. Nordnorge will be next, finished by November.
It comes as the line prepares to launch its first new ship in ten years with Spitsbergen due to enter the fleet later this year. Spitsbergen will also feature the “New Arctic” look from its maiden voyage.
