Aladdin had a genie. Why can't Royal Caribbean guests?

Aladdin had a genie. Why not Royal Caribbean guests too?

Coming from May this year when Royal Caribbean introduces its Royal Suite Class accommodation category on six of its ships, guests in these cabins will enjoy the services of what the line is referring to as its Royal Genie. Among the ships offering the feature will be Ovation of the Seas, valid only for its departures from Sydney. The Royal Genie will also be available on Ovation‘s sister ships Quantum of the Seas and Anthem of the Seas as well as Oasis of the Seas, Allure of the Seas & Harmony of the Seas.

Cabin categories eligible for the Royal Genie service are among the highest echelon of those available onboard, including the Royal Loft, Owner’s Loft, Grand Loft and Sky Loft balcony suites as well as the Four Bedroom Family Suite and Aquatheatre Balcony Suite.

Much like an exclusive concierge or butler, the Royal Genie will aim to get to know the passengers he or she will be serving during a particular voyage and from there, will anticipate what it can do to improve the onboard experience of these guests based on their preferences and personal style.

A guest’s Royal Genie will work to craft personalised experiences for guests, ranging from handcrafted cocktails waiting in a suite upon their return from a customised shore excursion to securing a table for a memorable meal at one of the ship’s specialty restaurants, coordinating an in-suite dining experience or even securing VIP seating at a popular show in the theatre. On a more personal level, services including unpacking on arrival, laundry, pressing, shoe shining, luggage handling and then helping with packing again at the end.

The Royal Genie will be a cool new butler.
Royal Caribbean’s Royal Genie will adopt a stylish variation of looks.

When guests encounter the Royal Genie at different times of the day and night, he or she will reflect a contemporary and appropriate look. From casual pants and linen shirts during a warm day to a formal, yet modern look at night, the intention is for guests to feel not as though they are being served by a stuffy ultra-posh butler but a comfortable yet professional personal assistant.

Guests booked in the highest categories of suites will enjoy a highly inclusive experience during their cruise, with perks including unlimited VOOM internet, no surcharges on dining in any venue across the ship, a top-level beverage package, all gratuities included, upgraded room amenities such as toiletries in the bathroom and preferred seating in a zoned-off area at a number of bars, restaurants and lounges.

Most of the six suite categories eligible for Royal Genie service are two storeys in height with a master bedroom and ensuite on the upper level complete with separate bath and shower, up to four king-size beds which can convert to twin beds as required, separate dining area with a dry bar and a private balcony, many of which also feature a whirlpool spa. Many but not all categories are available on all six ships so be sure to check when you book.
