One of the higher room categories on MS Koningsdam

The latest video in Holland America Line’s ‘Countdown to Koningsdam’ series has been released, taking viewers inside the staterooms for a look at passenger accommodations on the forthcoming ship. Like its predecessors, the video is hosted by the ship’s cruise director Johnathan Rogers, featuring special guest and Deputy Director of Interior Design My Nguyen.

MS Koningsdam will offer a wider range of dedicated staterooms among its 1,300 cabins, catering for parties of different sizes including 32 staterooms designed for families and 12 cabins for solo travellers. Each category from suites down to spa staterooms, verandahs, ocean-view and interior will boast a different colour scheme.

Irrespective of the category, beds in each stateroom will feature specially designed headboards with USB and electric outlets on both sides. Storage capabilities have also been enhanced along with new technology and lighting.

“We spent years developing and fine-tuning the design of the ship’s accommodations to ensure that our guests feel like they’re walking into a pampering and relaxing environment while they’re cruising on Koningsdam,” Holland America Line president Orlando Ashford said, adding that the stateroom design presented by Nguyen incorporated significant levels of feedback from past passengers.
