Keen fishermen sailing with Princess Cruises in Alaska will have the chance to catch their own salmon and have it expertly prepared for them to enjoy as part of a new shore excursion released for the upcoming Alaskan cruising season.
The ‘Cook My Catch’ experience is available during port calls in Juneau and Ketchikan as an optional add-on to the existing ‘Salmon Sport Fishing Adventure in Juneau’, ‘Salmon Sport Fishing Expedition’ and ‘Hunting for Halibut’ shore excursions as well as the ‘Discovery Exclusive Alaska Fishing & Wilderness Dining excursion’ in Ketchikan. Guests venture to different areas on a fishing boat for the day and on return, select their preferred preparation method and sides and wait until dinner when their catch will be served to their dinner table.
Guests who have booked a pre or post-cruise Princess Land & Sea Vacation staying at Kenai Princess Wilderness Lodge or Copper River Princess Wilderness Lodge can also book the salmon fishing experience during their stay.
“The newest North to Alaska offerings, including Cook My Catch, truly demonstrates our commitment to provide our guests authentic local experiences in the destinations we visit,” Princess Cruises president Jan Swartz commented.
‘Cook My Catch’ is the latest enhancement in Princess Cruises’ ‘North to Alaska’ destination program designed to immerse guests in authentic Alaskan cuisine, entertainment and educational lifestyles and activities. Other experiences guests can participate in include meeting real mountain climbers who have scaled Alaska’s Mt McKinley and interacting with teams of sled dogs in Skagway, taking photos with them and also meeting their handlers.
Over the 2016 Alaskan cruise season, which runs May through September, six different Princess Cruises ships will operate more than 120 departures from San Francisco, Seattle, Vancouver and Whittier (Anchorage).
