Tonight’s return to Australian TV screens of Australia’s Got Talent, which uncovers some of Australia’s gifted performers and artists, will carry sponsorship from Royal Caribbean, itself a purveyor of world class talent and show production.
As part of a new partnership with the Nine Network talent program announced today, the cruise line will put its name on all “Wildcard” entries during the series, which sees those contestants not voted into the finals by judges able to progress through votes from viewers.
Prizes are on offer to both Wildcard contestants and home viewers, with the winning Wildcard entrant receiving an 11-night cruise to New Zealand on Explorer of the Seas, departing in April and including return Economy airfares if the winner does not reside in Sydney. A second cabin on the same voyage will be awarded to one lucky home viewer, with entries gained by casting a vote for one of the Wildcard entries.
“Royal Caribbean is incredibly proud of its world-class onboard entertainment so we’re thrilled to partner with one of Australia’s favourite television programs and showcase the very best of Aussie talent,” Royal Caribbean commercial director Adam Armstrong said.
“We can’t wait to support Australia’s best talent. Explorer of the Seas is Australia’s newest and biggest cruise ship, packed with entertainment for all the family, so it’s a fitting prize for such an incredible competition.”
Armstrong added keen observers at any Royal Caribbean onboard performance may hear an Australian accent, perhaps a veiled hint cruisers may see any number of the super-talented contestants plying their entertaining trade at sea anywhere in the world in the future.
