The Oberoi Group Promises Unparalleled Luxury on the Nile Onboard

Upscale hotel and river cruise brand The Oberoi Group has just doubled its passenger capacity in Egypt on the world’s longest river, the Nile, with the addition of a second vessel to bolster its existing presence.

Already operating the Oberoi Zahra river cruiser, the company has acquired the newly named Oberoi Philae, which will sail on four and six-night itineraries between the Egyptian cities of Aswan and Luxor. Stops along the way include Komombo, Edfu, Esna and Quina. The vessel caters to 44 people per sailing across 22 cabins and suites, each featuring picture windows.

Public facilities on the ships include a restaurant serving Western, Asian and Middle Eastern cuisine. On the upper deck, a temperature controlled swimming pool and poolside restaurant is open alongside a bar and cigar lounge. Guests can also enjoy a movie theatre, 24-hour gym, spa treatment facility and onboard wi-fi. English-speaking Egyptologists feature on every voyage, conducting informative knowledge of the region and the country’s history.

Such a polarising destination, Egypt offers over 5,000 years of culture and history with regions outside of Cairo including Luxor offering access to attractions such as the Valley of the Kings, the Tomb of King Tutankhamun (King Tut) and Hatshepsut Temple.
