Guests on a series of Aqua Expeditions voyages in Vietnam and South America later this year will be able to meet and mingle with special invited guests including executive chefs instrumental in the design of onboard menus and even the company founder and CEO.
Six voyages in total will feature the elite passengers. The Aqua Expeditions creator and global boss Francesco Galli Zugaro will sail in both Asia and South America, while one executive chef from each region will personally join a pair of voyages. Guests on the sailings will receive insights into their vision and methods behind the crafting of the Aqua Expeditions onboard experience as well as first-hand stories into their own personal business history.
Mr Galli Zugaro will join guests on a seven-night cruise along the Mekong River in Indochina, sailing from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam to Siem Reap, Cambodia onboard the Aqua Mekong departing on 26 August 2016. This voyage will see the company founder recount his effort to grow his business outside of its South American heartland and into Asia.
Later in the year, Galli Zugaro will travel to Peru for a seven-night round-trip voyage from Iquitos, Peru onboard the Aqua Amazon, departing on 19 November 2016. Highlights of that voyage will include a hosted bike riding adventure to local markets and a kayaking excursion on the gentler sections of the Amazon River.
Guests keen to learn more about the development of regionally-inspired fine dining menus are encouraged to book on two pairs of voyages which will feature presentations by Aqua Expeditions’ consulting chefs David Thompson and Pedro Miguel Schiaffino. Thompson is known as the name behind popular Sydney eateries Darley Street Thai and Sailor’s Thai along with Long Chim, his more recent opening in Perth. He will impart specialist tips about his Asian culinary expertise on two seven-night Mekong voyages departing 22 April from Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam and 13 May 2016 from Siem Reap, Cambodia.
Pedro Miguel Schiaffino will host a four night cruise along the Amazon River on 29 March, departing from Iquitos, Peru. A second voyage, this time seven nights in duration and featuring the acclaimed chef later in the year will depart on 26 November. Miguel Schiaffino is a Consulting Chef on Aqua Amazon and Aria Amazon and owner of Lima-based Malabar, which has previously been listed in the San Pellegrino World’s 100 Best Restaurants.
Staterooms on all six voyages are now open for reservations.
