Princess Cruises says its guests will wake each morning feeling “refreshed, rejuvenated and renewed,” announcing today it will replace more than 44,000 beds inside every stateroom fleet-wide over the next three years with the new, specially-designed Princess Luxury Bed.
Designed in consultation with US-based scientist and sleep expert Dr Michael Breus, the new bed incorporates a 5cm-thick mattress topper, individually-wrapped coils, European-inspired duvet and 100% Jacquard-woven cotton linens. Further, electronically tempered springs work to enhance support, while a foam casing offers an increased sleeping surface.
Dr Breus said the new bed design builds in some unique aspects to help promote the entire experience to ensure guests sleep “really well”.
“It’s important to remember that above all, sleep is a sensory experience and all five of your senses must be prepared for slumber in order for sleep to come easily & last all night long.”
Princess Cruises Vice-President Australia and New Zealand Stuart Allison said the new bed design reflected the line’s ‘Come Back New’ tagline, helping guests feel refreshed each day.
“With our guests’ overall wellness in mind, we’ve invested in the design and development of our new Princess Luxury Bed with leading experts in both the science of sleep and design to offer the most comfortable and rejuvenating sleep at sea,” Allison added.
